As a nation, we’re obsessed with cooking shows, but there’s nothing we love more than a cooking competition, oh yes.

Although in fairness any competition format show seems to work us up into a tiz. We seem to get particularly churned up about, The Apprentice, Masterchef and Great British Bake Off.

Let’s focus on that last one, The Great British Bake Off.

I’m about to make a confession that some of you may find hard to comprehend, but I’ve never before been a fan of it. That is, not until Noel Fielding and Sandy Toksvig took to the presenting stage and it seems that it could be a recipe for success. So now, I’m 100% sold on the idea of it.

After the new presenter announcement, I was pretty hyped. But then this came out…

Carefully crafted from 500 eggs, 28kg of sugar and 50kg of flour, these 335 baked characters provide the trailer for the much-anticipated new series.

In my opinion, this is some souper creative advertising. This stop motion wonder has a whimsical feel, a community spirit (even though they are only baked characters) and sets the tone for a new layout. It just goes to show the power of a good video (did I mention we make videos now?).

I’ve been excited to see what Channel 4/Love Productions rustle up for their new set. After such a promising trailer, I know they’ll be cooking up a storm in their set design department and I can’t wait to see how they re-format the show for the new channel.

This just goes to show the power of video supported by a strong brand, refined design and captivating marketing. And it just so happens that it’s what we do too. Piece of cake.

Last but not yeast, sorry for all the puns, you can blame it on the coffee.
