It’s not just about loving what you do, but loving where you work too.

Here at Cornerstone, we strive to create the perfect environment to work in, which we think is especially important in helping to get those creative juices flowing.

We thought we’d let you into a few of our little tips on how we achieve the perfect office work environment.

 1. Make your workplace a happy and relaxed one

Creating a happy and relaxed environment has got to be the number one priority wherever you work. It’s difficult to surmise in just a few short sentences all the different ways in which this can be achieved, but we find the key here is flexibility! An environment that is flexible enough to cater to each person’s needs is the best way to create a harmonious working environment.

TOP TIP

Having quiet areas of the office that you can escape to are good for if you’re needing some time to concentrate or reflect, meaning the more rowdy bunch are still free to make noise in the main office.

 2. Create a friendly and open environment

Now we’re not saying that everyone you work with should automatically become your new best friend, but we spend most of our waking hours at work so it pays to get to know your co-workers. Seeing a friendly face each day and working together as a team certainly lowers stress levels and boosts moral and productivity when those tight deadlines are looming.

 3. Have tea and coffee in abundance

You’ll notice that there is a pattern emerging with all this tea and coffee talk from previous blog posts, but this just emphasises its importance. Having regular drinks gives you a great excuse to get out of your chair and away from your desk, (as well as staying hydrated of course). Even if only for 5 minutes, taking regular breaks is important when you’re sat watching a screen all day!

 4. Personalise your workspace

A typical office can seem impersonal and a bit lack luster, which has all the makings of a drab and dull environment. Personalising your space is a great way to counter this and gives you that home from home feeling. A family photo or funny desktop wallpaper might be all you need to give you that well needed afternoon boost, or you could do like we did and give the entire office a total makeover using custom design and wide format printing techniques.

We hope the above tips help you to be as happy as we are when we arrive for work each morning, and if you have any tips of your own, we’d love to hear them.
