Today’s a pretty significant day for Cornerstone as we’re all excited to attend the MPA awards this evening at the Midland Hotel in Manchester, in which we’ve been shortlisted for two awards – Creative Agency of the Year and Creative Agency Campaign of the Year.
2016 was the first year our little agency from Oldham has actually entered in for an industry specific award, and we were really pleased to hear we’d been shortlisted, especially when we heard we were alongside some extremely well respected, big agency names from across Manchester and the surrounding areas.
The award nominations have come off the back of our work with North West Ambulance Service (NWAS), working on their winter campaign that we titled ‘Make The Right Call’.
The project was primarily a digitally led marketing campaign, aimed at educating members of the public about the right times to use 999, and making clear the other NHS services available for less critical illnesses and emergencies.
This was done to help reduce calls via 999, and increase the use of alternative care pathways, with the overall operational objective being to increase the availability of call handlers and ambulance crews to those with serious and life threatening illnesses such as heart attacks.
So after a few team meetings and some creative work from the team (and a few cracking brews to keep us ticking), #MakeTheRightCall was born, and so too was a campaign we could be truly proud of.
We loved working on the campaign as it allowed us to not only be creative, but also think differently about how to communicate an important NHS message, without it seeming exactly that to the general public.
The campaign ran from November 2015 through to February 2016, and had an outstanding impact, reaching in excess of half a million people for what was a relatively small overall marketing spend.
We created a digital marketing strategy which included social media marketing, targeted PPC campaigns, an animated video and affiliate advertising, as well as traditional media, community outreach items, and a dedicated website which can be found here.
We’ll keep you all posted on how we fair on the night, but win or lose, I’m immensely proud of our team, and the work we’ve produced for our clients from NWAS, who have been working with Cornerstone since 2008!
