When you are among the best in the world at what you do, you know quality when you spot it.
That’s the basis of the strong relationship we have built with Digital Projection, a digital imaging pioneer and industry leader, which manufactures an extensive and expanding line of ultra high-performance projection systems.
This multi-award winning, Oldham-based company with a global footprint, sets the reference standard for demanding applications such as large-venue, live-event staging, education, medical and scientific research, command and control, digital cinema, commercial entertainment, houses of worship and elite residential entertainment.
Our print and signage division has been working with Digital Projection for the past six years and most recently we were delighted to be involved in the creation of its exhibition booth and exhibition signage for the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) trade show in Barcelona, the world’s leading business-to-business event for the AV and systems integration industries.
Digital Projection has been attending the ISE show for several years now and was one of 1,400 exhibitors at the most recent event.
Our production team delivered a range of wide format print services that complemented the digital displays seen by the show’s 75,000 visitors over four days.
Digital Projection’s Vice President of Global Marketing, Mark Wadsworth, says: “The floorspace at ISE regularly exceeds 250 square meters, so it’s paramount that we create an impact and stand out among the 1,400 other exhibitors.
“Where Cornerstone comes in to this equation is when we need print services to complement our huge projection displays. Conveying the right message at scale is where traditional print meets digital, and Cornerstone have been doing this for us for over six years.
“When projectors cost up to $150,000 each, there can be no compromise on the quality of any aspect of the booth. Customer dwell time is the longest while they’re reading the signage, so the quality must be perfect to match the quality of our projected displays.”
What sets us apart from the rest?
The versatility of wide format vinyl printing makes it ideal for large-scale projects, such as high quality bespoke signage, wall wraps, and posters, helping businesses such as Digital Projection to make a visual statement that says look at us!
We thrive on quality at Cornerstone, so everything we do goes through a process of making sure our work is perfect before being delivered and/or installed at the client’s location.
Such is our quality control measures, NONE of our products EVER leave our on-site print room without undergoing a strict QC and QA process, ensuring everything is on brand and to the highest of standards.
We use genuine Mimaki inks – these stay UV stable for longer, meaning our colours are deeper and more vibrant. Our competitors commonly use cheaper, third party copies.
And our 16-pass print process means the printing head passes over the media 16 times, creating a sharper finish with no imperfections – most competitors only use 4-pass printing, applying only a quarter of the ink we do. This attention to detail ensures finished exhibition builds are polished, professional and impactful.
Our production crew has a wealth of industry experience, both in manufacturing and installation. They are perfectionist professionals with backgrounds in a broad range of traditional and state-of-the art printing techniques.
They also have a head for heights, possessing PASMA (Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers Association) certification for scaffolding and IPAF MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platform) licences for cherry pickers. They hold CSCS (Site Labours Card) and have training in lone working / abrasive wheels / COSHH / PEWER / First Aid and fire marshalling.
Yes, we’ve just blown our own trumpet, but don’t just take our word for it. Here’s Mark Wadsworth again, who has some particularly kind words for our print room manager, Sam.
“Sam has always been instrumental in suggesting the best options for the graphics, be it substrate or print method, and year on year he and Cornerstone have delivered the quality we require. Whether it’s a 12m wide vinyl or an 8×4 dibond sign, the quality has always been perfect.
“We’ve used other companies in the past, but it was clear that care and attention was not their top priority, which I know it is at Cornerstone.
“Much of the material is also produced last minute, and I know I can rely on Sam and Cornerstone for these critical quick turnaround times. The show must open, so there is no margin for error in any aspect of the work.”
