Head of Operations

As part of Cornerstone’s rapid expansion, we’re recruiting for a new position within the agency. Our new head of operations will be a driven, enthusiastic and ambitious operations manager, with at least five years’ experience of managing a marketing agency or professional services business.

The chosen candidate will be responsible for the day to day management of our operations, the delivery of projects to deadlines, objectives and specifications, as well as ensuring our production department is on target and achieving its outcomes.

Reporting directly to our managing director and head of creative, this role will touch all aspects of the business and be a pivotal role in our expansion plans. The successful candidate will be highly detailed, experienced in managing operations and people, and be multi-skilled, being able to adapt to the businesses rapidly changing environment and needs.

A highly organised and detail driven approach is critical to the delivery of this job, as well as great people and communication skills (both verbal and written).

The head of operations will oversee our team on a daily basis spanning all departments of the business and will have day to day line management for this team, as well as managing KPI performance, professional development and career progression for each employee.

The head of operations will report directly to the MD daily, providing operational updates, business reports and addressing potential problem areas within the business ahead of them becoming a problem, with cohesive recommendations and suggestions on how to address and remedy the issues raised.

The role will also be responsible for implementing operational changes, new processes and procedures and ensuring our policies are adhered to, including health and safety within the business. Working collaboratively with the MD and other key personnel within the business, you will help drive our agency through its next stage of growth and development.


Key roles will include:

  • Management of our studio and production departments, ensuring project deadline achievement and client satisfaction
  • Detailed planning of studio and production departments, working in a traffic manager capacity to ensure workflows and smooth running of the business
  • Familiarity with marketing services and agency operations
  • Excellent people management skills and experience of KPI reviews, performance management and human resources with demonstrable success in managing a multi-disciplined team
  • Successfully meeting targets and delivering profitable outcomes for both Cornerstone and our clients
  • Development of ‘continuous improvement program’ within the business the helps drive adoption, improved profits, revenue and margin
  • Develop a customer focused approach to delivering our services, identifying ways to deliver the best possible client experience
  • Reporting on project achievement, target achievement and project delivery to the MD
  • Daily reporting to MD of likely snags and issues on projects
  • Reporting on our retainer client’s objectives and achievements
  • Outstanding attention to detail and planning ability, with resource allocation and forecasting for all areas of the business
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and written


Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, PR or related field

Experience: Minimum of 5 years operations / management experience of an SME professional services business

Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 depending on experience

Holidays: 22 days per year plus bank holidays

Account Manager / Senior Account Manager

Cornerstone is on the look out for a highly motivated and experienced account manager to join our growing agency.

Known for our passion for the industry, ability to achieve the impossible and provide outstanding work, client satisfaction and results, we are looking to recruit an account manager that is highly motivated, a strong communicator, an excellent people person and up for taking on new and demanding challenges.

Working as part of an account management team of three, the role will involve dealing with tight deadlines, management of multiple projects, client relationships and expectations, as well as providing the ability to multi-task whilst maintaining outstanding levels of attention to detail for clients and their campaigns.

The ideal candidate should have at least three years’ experience within a marketing or agency role, be looking to develop their career in a growing agency, be passionate about the job and be a strong and confident copywriter and marketing strategist.

Key roles will include:

  • Managing many of Cornerstone’s client accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction, retention and account development
  • Taking briefs from clients and translating that into working marketing ideas for our creative and digital teams to develop into a finished piece of work
  • Providing quotations and estimates for client projects
  • Copywriting for client campaigns, marketing literature and all other media and channels
  • Marketing strategy, planning and working with other team members to achieve a positive outcome
  • Good knowledge of various media channels, marketing techniques and industries
  • Providing clients with marketing ideas, technical advice about emerging media channels and ways in which to leverage this for their marketing progression
  • A strong understanding of digital technology and social media platforms and techniques
  • Time management and planning, ensuring multiple projects are able to be completed in a polished and streamlined manner
  • A keen eye for brand identity, consistency and creativity, with creative ideas to help develop client brand positioning and awareness
